Do you believe that man/woman is born good or bad?

We are born in His image. The idea that we are born or created ‘messed up’ is a Calvinist falshood. Original sin - yes. ‘Messed up’ - no.
 
The question is not phrased very well.

This should not be an “or” question.

Just what exactly does “messed up” mean? Do you mean totally corrupt? If so then no. Do you mean corrupt enough that we need a savior? Then yes.
 
By original sin we means messed up in that we have a tendency to sin, and our emotions are out of harmony with our will. So, I do believe we are NOT totally corrupt, but that we need to grow up cooperating with the grace of the Lord in order to be sanctified.

We are born good, being creations of God, but we’re born with an* injustice* nonetheless-the injustice of being separated from God. We’re the only beings we know of, besides angels, who are capable of consciously knowing and loving God- and justice cries out that He deserves this from us-and that our integrity is compromised without it-and yet we’re born exiled from Him, not even believing in, let alone knowing and loving Him. This happened at the fall as a result of man rejecting Gods’ authority, effectively rejecting God as God, with man now acting as his own moral agent with his own personal brand of “righteousness”-a *self-*righteousness, so to speak, making himself his god. But man’s true righteousness can only come from God, by direct subjugation to and communion with Him. The Atonement has as its purpose the rectifying of this situation, where God becomes the God of man again, as per the New Covenant promise in Jer 31.

Man and woman are good but they have the freedom to corrupt themselves-we can choose to align ourselves with goodness/life/light/God or we can embrace evil/death/darkness/no God…

Sorry if my question is not phrased well.
What I’m leading to is this, how can you be believe that man/woman is born imperfect and be an atheist?

Don’t think we are born in a default state. We have the tendency to mess up but also have the capacity to goodness.
