Do you ever genuflect in church?

Thanks I appreciate that, but I do know them. I am stating what I do since the question was a personal one ‘do you do this or that’

My Italian Nona did what was done in her little area off an island in Italy for generations 🙂

I have not taken your post as a criticism at all and do agree it is important for people reading our replies to be aware of the rubrics.

I do the same whether at an Latin Mass, Mass in the Vernacular or even just in the Church to Pray or attend to a ministry.

I attend Traditional Latin Mass - normally High Mass/Tridentine mass. I will always double genuflect with a bow a gesture of reverence in the Presence of Our Lord.

Local traditions may vary.
 
I genuflect into the pew and when passing the tabernacle and bow in front of the altar if the tabernacle was moved for some reason to a side altar
 
As someone who is converting to the faith I genuflect to the Tabernacle when I’m able to (My knees dislocate frequently so have limited bend in them) I bow now instead to show respect & reverence to Our Lord.
 
Thanks. I had nothing handy to check at the time, and I was going on something from another source I wasn’t 100% sure about. I couldn’t think why a cross/crucifix would be visible at the start of service anyway.

Yes. But it’s a tiny little thing as my new partial knee replacements aren’t working out the greatest. My kneeling is adapted to my condition as well but it is what it is.

I always genuflect to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Tabernacle. Sometimes, that happens when I’m entering or exiting a pew.
 
Whenever I pass before the Holy Eucharist I genuflect. I also teach the children to do likewise.

When you do that “cross-your-forehead thing at the Gospel” please remember to say “may the word by on my mind (as you cross your forehead), on my lips (as you cross your chin), and in my heart” (as you cross your chest)". Some people don’t realize there’s a prayer that accompanies the motion.

I sort of do have that in mind, based on what I used to overhear the priest say when I was an altar boy.
