Has your circle of friends increased by going to mass?
Is your Catholic friends made stayed the same?
We’re they made when you were young?

Yes, I have absolutely made new friends by going to Mass. I make new friends all the time through church.

I’ve only lived in my town for less than half my life. I have made many friends through the parish, from Bible studies, small groups, retreats, mission talks, volunteering, fellowship meals, games, coffee and donuts, etc.

Yes, I have made friends at church. Through one friend, I met many new friends.

I’ve made quite a few friends from going to mass. I’ve made several more from helping with RCIA and other ministries.

Definitely not, but that’s not something that I should worry about.

Whilst there are different levels of friendship from casual friend to close friend -
  1. Yes, more casual friends but with whom I do not mix outside of Church social, events, Mass etc.
  2. No longer active friends with childhood friends. Still friends with those made about 8yrs ago in another parish.
  3. See #2 above.

Definitely not. I imagine you have to participate in your parish to make friends. People here get in and get out after Mass.

My parish is so small that we all know each other and visitors are immediately identified. We’re so excited to have visitors that sometimes we come on too strong. But yes, I have made friends at my parish.
