And being a member of a joke site on Facebook changed all of that?Would not have expected something like this coming from you. Have always respected your views and liked most of your posts.

Eat them first. What if beings from another planet decided to eat humans?
I am a vegetarian but I am not all angry or offended at that joke just find it silly and rather childish. Not calling you childish of course. And being a member of a joke site on Facebook changed all of that?
Well, the Almighty works in mysterious ways…in this case, perhaps, VERY mysterious ways.Yes, the Holy Spirit! It eventually led me back to the Catholic Church. I treasure that experience. I doubt it came from Satan, but I strongly feel that the experience was beyond my doing.
That is okay. I will admit I am childishI am a vegetarian but I am not all angry or offended at that joke just find it silly and rather childish. Not calling you childish of course.
I find preparing chicken from the store to be absolutely disgusting. It smells, it’s slimy, and it’s gross. I never was able to prepare chicken without becoming nauseous. In fact, used to prepare chicken dinners and not be able to eat them because of that. However, one day a friend and I processed some chickens, and I’ll tell you this: if your chicken was freshely dispatched (like on a farm), I have no idea what you found revolting because freshly dispatched chicken is UN-slimey and NON-smelly.I’m talking about chicken, beef, and pork. I first had an extreme experience while preparing chicken for the first time. I found it to be very gross washing the pieces of mutilated chicken. It was a very strong experience that made me feel gross being human and I became a vegetarian. Today I eat all kinds of meats, but I still remember my first experience and I still feel gross being human and having to eat mutilated animals.
LOL I think you missed a spot!Happy Thanksgiving to my neighbors to the south…

I have reservations about pork since that news story a couple of months back about the farmer being devoured by his own hogs. This happens from time to time. I wonder if they just destroy the hogs, or some of them wind up at Jimmy Dean’s place?I find preparing chicken from the store to be absolutely disgusting. It smells, it’s slimy, and it’s gross. I never was able to prepare chicken without becoming nauseous. In fact, used to prepare chicken dinners and not be able to eat them because of that. As for beef, I love meat. I have a home-raised steer in my freezer. I cannot STAND the smell of ground beef from the store. The smell is revolting and other cuts aren’t that impressive either. I don’t even buy ground meat from the store anymore unless I’m desperate and even then, unless it’s Kroger’s from their “trimmings” because that seems to be a little better. Others have to agree because it’s the first gone. You have to wait in line here where I live to get it.
I don’t like pork, but I find preparing it just as disgusting as chicken. I can eat it if I don’t spend too much time handling it.
And I don’t drink store-bought milk, unless I’m desperate, because I have my own milk cow. She’s dry now and I’m pretty unhappy about it. Plus I miss her. I can’t wait until she has her calf on Feb 22nd…or you know, as life dictates, somewhere around Feb 22I don’t drink milk from the store: it smells, it tastes spoiled and it leaves this film in the back of my throat. If I don’t have a cow or goat in milk, or if a friend doesn’t, then I don’t drink it.
This is why I think it is valuable to spend time on farms and ranches and do some hunting (at least some) to appreciate what is involved in the acquisition and preparation of our food. Thanksgiving. What a great day for the topic.I’m talking about chicken, beef, and pork. I first had an extreme experience while preparing chicken for the first time. My goodness… my eyes… the tears… I can’t stop. sniffsHappy Thanksgiving to my neighbors to the south…

Never heard of balut? Ask Crescetious.I certainly would find it disgusting, and I think most people would. The eggs you buy at the supermarket are supposed to be unfertilized. Of course, sometimes mistakes are made and a fertilized egg with a partially formed chicken embryo gets mixed in. I think you’d be entitled to a refund for that carton of eggs.
Ugh…let’s not, and say we did.Never heard of balut? Ask Crescetious.
What was your belief system in humankind that was shattered? What did you believe that was destroyed by this experience? This was the first time I cooked chicken myself. Washing it was like washing a butchered animal. I can’t describe it accurately, but the sensation of my holding the dead chicken and knowing that I was going to cook and eat it was a religious experience that shattered much of my belief system in humankind. I saw us as meatbots for the first time.
