Do you find the term "Roman Catholic Church" offensive when NCC address it as such?

Having seen two of the last four popes use that wording… it’s good enough for me.
I’m pretty sure two of the last four of my grandparents would have been pleased if you called them “gay.” Languages change over time and words take on new meanings and drop old ones. We aren’t Amish. We don’t put the brakes on time and say there can be nothing better to come of the world. Why would anyone refuse to see what words mean today and use them accordingly?

John Paul II used the term Eastern Rite Catholics to refer to members of all the Eastern churches as a whole. It would not be proper to say Catholics of the Eastern Rite, but Catholics of the Eastern Rites or Catholics of the Eastern Churches are both proper and inclusive.

Benedict XVI has used the term as well, tho’ I’m not certain if it was post elevation.

John XXIII also used it while pope.

It is perfectly valid to refer to Byzantine Rite Catholics as a group… it includes a dozen churches sui iuris.

It isn’t proper, tho, to say Ukrainian Rite Catholics; that’s Ukrainian Greek Catholics, or Ukrainian Church Catholics…
