Do You Get Sleepy When You Read?
After 15 or 20 minutes I must either nod off or get up and do something else in order to stay awake. Does anyone else experience this terrific pull?
When I pick up a book to read I sometimes feel that I am flirting with sleep rather than intrigue or knowledge.
 
Especially reading on the computer I usually get half way through a (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!)
 
I only feel sleepy when I read if I’m already sleepy or tired, or if what I’m reading is boring.

Reading keeps me awake - unless I’m reading something extremely boring and badly written. The TV, on the other hand, sends me to sleep with its low level droning - and it helps that TV is such a passive medium​

 
I usually read just before I go to bed. Helps me relax my brain,

Nope can’t read in bed. I would love to be able too, but I fall asleep quickly. I can’t pray the rosary in bed either…same thing off to dream land.
 
My mom gets super tired when she reads and she just found out that it’s due to an eye problem, a medical term I can’t remember, but she needs special glasses with prisms and all that to correct it. Maybe if it’s a bad enough problem you should go to the eye doctor to get it checked out.

Nope,all the opposite!!!🙂 It’s really hard to sleep when I’m reading.Last night I was reading"Ghosts" from the series “the enchanted world” of time life books,it was 3:34am when I finished and I had to stop.It was friday night,so I didn’t worry much about sleeping late.:yup:
 
Sometimes I read to strain my eyes to the point I have to sleep…but most times I don’t get sleepy when I read. I do, however, get sleepy when I drive on the Interstate…
