Do you guys believe that if there is a heaven there is a hell?

do you guys believe that if that jesus said that if there is a heaven there is a helll,? in the sense that, if there is a heaven, which christ resurrected to, wouldn’t there be a easier method to life that he disocvered for us earlier on in earlier stages of our lifeves? I believe that, christ has died and christ ahs risen and for good measure, but does this mean that christ has ressurected like the bible says, or am ii just out of it?
 
Saint Paul in 1 Cor. 15:12-19 says that if Jesus has not risen from the dead, then the Christian Faith is in vain, false, empty!
The resurrection of Our Lord is the hallmark of our faith. Yes, I do believe it and it is not just Him, we too will be raised from the dead to a new life with Jesus. He was first; we will follow.
 
Jesus mentioned Hell more times than He mentioned Heaven. He came not for the just but for the sinners.
 
I am at best an average person.

Sometimes … especially when I do stupid stuff …

… then I am clearly below average.

I personally do not personally know if there is a heaven or a hell.

HOWEVER, Christian literature … [what we call the Bible] … talks about creation and about eternal rewards and eternal punishment. Sacred Scripture … AKA … also known as … The Bible.

There really is a person named Jesus [English translation] who walked among us …

… and this Jesus spoke to us …

… and his friends wrote down what he said …

… and there are saintly people who have written and encouraged us and provided motivation to believe.

So, based on listening for a long time and doing the reading …

… and receiving the Sacraments …

… and considering personal experiences … personal experiences of me and of other people …

… then yes, I believe there is a heaven and a hell.

I desire the heaven.

And I dread the hell.

Get a catechism and start reading.
Catholics certainly do believe in Heaven , hell, and the Resurrection.
 
I"ve said ad infinitum the night my father died, he appeared in my room. At the end of the exchange he gave this absolutely terrifying scream and then disappeared. It was obvious something was coming for him.

So I have no problem believing Hell exists. We only have to look at the Gulags and the Holocaust to see a glimpse of Hell on earth.

Heaven is a bit more problematic, since we only get in if we’re perfect. Since we gravitate to a fallen state far more easily than we do to a holy state, the half way house of Purgatory is a bit easier to accept.

But I believe Heaven exists. The trouble is trying to imagine it.

CS Lewis for example said that “The Screwtape Letters” was the easiest writing he’d ever done, and that it would run away with you for a thousand pages if you let it. But it left him with no heavenly pleasure. Now that was imaginary advice from a Senior Devil to a Junior Devil.

He thought that to give a balanced account, there should be a book of advice by a Senior Angel to a Junior Angel. But then he posited the 64 dollar question, “… who could write such a book??”

Every word, every phrase, would have to reek of heaven.
 
… I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because God has revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. 😉

1: If you’re “out of it”, then so is the entire Christian faith. Jesus lived, Jesus died, Jesus rose, Jesus ascended. Which brings me to my next point:
2: Jesus didn’t “resurrect” to Heaven; His resurrection was on earth. He returned to life on earth in full bodily form; not a ghost or a vision. He ascended into Heaven, after the Resurrection and showing Himself to His disciples and followers. Two separate things, but both awesome. 🙂
3: “IF” Jesus said? He not only suggested “If there’s a Heaven, there’s a hell”, He said THERE IS A HELL. Heaven, hell, and Purgatory are very, very, very real. The Bible says so, Jesus says so, the Catechism says so. Also, there are real-life experiences that shows they’re not just a Christian creation or figment of our minds.

How long have you been Catholic?

This is one of the few topics that science and religion seem close. There are no monopoles! North-Soutn, Day-Night, Heaven-Hell. Virtually all major philosophies demonstrate balance.

Oh, and Jesus said so!
