What prayer book do you have that you’ve loved most and the longest in your life or since becoming a catholic? One that is well thumbed and relied upon?
My parents,in their eighties, have little books of prayers they take to mass that used to belong to their parents. Very durably made.

I have a Daily Roman Missal that is really well-loved. It’s been dropped, left in the rain, underlined… I love it.
The Power of Silence by Cardinal Robert Sarah is one that I’ve gotten recently, but got (and will get) its fair share of use
My primary Bible, which is in a binding i love is also pretty well-used

I have my mom’s prayer book that’s about 30 years old. I don’t take it with me but leave it open on my altar area with a Blessed Mother holy card with it. You know how you can sometimes tell what pages were most used? Well the book opens naturally to the page that has the Prayer For One’s Family. I imagine my mom prayed that one a lot.

I keep the The Pieta Prayer Book in my purse. So many useful prayers, it’s great for when in waiting rooms or while sitting in the car waiting for others. I love it, very handy to have. I don’t know how to insert a picture, but I got it at my Catholic Bookstore for $3.00.

These are all great books 🙂 Thanks for your replies.
I have a Piata,I loved my old one but it came to peices from use,but I do have a new one I must get back into.

I carry a book of matches in case anyone hands me a book. 😎🔥

Manual for spiritual warfare I have with me most of the time.

Always good if you are under machine gun fire. It should be sufficient. (I think.)

It will definitely slow the bullets down, anyways.

OK, thank goodness for the internet. You need 7 inches of book to stop a 9 mm round.

For rifle rounds you are going to need a backpack of books, actually. (20 inches to stop a rifle bullet)

O.C. likely knew this already but did not want to show off.

Breviary. I carry it with me always, unless I know I’m only going to be away from home for a few hours (between offices).

That’s funny you should mention that,
in my car, above me, in the visor,
The Imitation of Christ - the small version.
I like the Colonel’s reply…I think of Solomon…
Ecclesiastes- the making of books, there is no end…
Imagine, even back then,
publishing books like McDonalds hamburgers !

I always carry a pocket New Testament
and this Daily Prayer Book from the Priests of the Sacred Heart

I bought a small leather bound Bible that I often carry, or at least it is kept in my office for daily use.

I have the Daily Prayer Book as well.

Recently, I purchased the St. Ignatius New Testament and Psalms in paperback to carry in my purse. It is a compact version, but does not have really small print.

Well, I always have a altar Roman Missal, a Lectionary, and the Book of Blessings on me, so… I’m safe

Always have my pocket NT and Psalms, and recently started carrying The Imitation of Christ
