Catholics only need to receive communion at least once a year, preferably during the Easter Season, correct? If so, does that mean that Catholics don’t need to receive communion every Sunday Mass/Saturday Vigil in order to fulfill their obligation? They just need to attend the Mass, right?

You’re correct.

There is an obligation to attend Mass every Sunday and holy day, but there is not a similar obligation to receive communion that often. If you have not met the fasting requirement, if you’re in a state of mortal sin, or if you’re not properly disposed at a particular Mass you don’t have to receive communion.

That’s right, your Sunday obligation (or Holy Day of Obligation obligation) is to attend Mass and keep the day holy but there is no obligation to receive Communion at that time.

Technically correct, but we do not want to keep ourselves away from Jesus’ grace unnecessarily. We should try to be in a state of grace to receive Jesus’ body and blood as often as possible.
