Do you like to use a spiritual accompaniment during Lent & Easter?

I usually get the one from the Magnificat and the Legionaries who have their own. I love the Lenten meditations. At that time also is my renewal to the St. Louis De Montfort consecration to the Blessed Virgin so I have a great deal to meditate with.

For the past two years, my parish has made copies of the Lenten edition of Magnificat available (free) to us – if they do the same this year, that’s what I’ll use. 🙂

Over the years I’ve collected a small number of these Lenten/Easter books. I am in the habit of putting them in a bread basket on the dining table. Having these books readily available for family members encourages them to pick one throughout lent…a bread basket filled with food for the soul…

i got a booklet in the mail yesterday fromt he jesuits published by an anglican woman???
meditations seem fine, anyone else get this or know what im talkinbout?
got one for advent too.
why are Catholic priests sending out Anglican stuff? (though of course if there’s no problem, then…there’s no problem!)

Mordocai,
You don’t sound entirely satisfied!
Try these daily online meditations from The Word Among Us. You could bookmark it or create a shortcut to your desk top for everyday convenience.

The Passionists alse have some very good Lenten reflections worth checking out.

I’ve learned that if someone sends me something free and religious looking in the mail I don’t have to use it or keep it.

May you have a holy and blessed lent!

That’s what I’m using this year as well. My mom got it for me. I couldn’t help but glance through it the other day, there’s some really interesting things in there! I’m looking forward to it. 🙂

Each day during lent you could view this multi-media version of the “Bitter Journey: The Way of the Cross”.
beliefnet.com/religion/christianity/holyweek/easter/cross_lite2.html
The concept for Beliefnet’s “Bitter Journey: The Way of the Cross” is based on traditions associated with Tenebrae services, the Stations of the Cross,* and the Lamentations of Good Friday.

Bookmark it or create a shortcut to your desktop.

Everyday take a few minutes to pray and live the Bitter Journey with our Lord.

I’m kinda just starting out with my religious reading - but I do have two of the classics - Introduction to the Devout Life (St Francis de Sales) and Imitation of Christ (Thomas a Kempis) and I fully intend to at least finish the former and start on the latter by the end of Lent.
