Do you see things that other family members don't?

I’ve always wondered why my husband’s computer desk seems rather messy to me, yet he can work on it without difficulty. Hm …:hmmm:

Yeah, my husband’s workbench in the garage is like that as well and he works pretty well with it. Although, once in a while, he’ll ask me if I saw such-and-such anywhere - which is like Greek to me since I have no idea what 18th c. flint lock musket parts are called. (He builds them for re-enactors.) What the heck is a “butt-plate”? 😛

Yes, fully intended in a light hearted manner. My feeble attempt to use humor as a way to save my sanity, (which I lost amid the rubble earlier today.) Yet, I’m a bit dissappointed that Mrs. Sally can easily recognize that I am not the “god of clean.” Oh well. Maybe she’s just really well catechised.
ha!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, I did very well in my “household gods” catechism class! :getholy:

I Are such items possibly invisible to others? I sometimes wonder if I have mystical powers to see things that no one else sees. I wish this special power could be passed along genetically to my offspring…
I have the opposite problem in that family members see things that are invisible to me, like the towel racks installed in the floor, invisible waste baskets in strategic locations, and clothes hampers in odd places like the foot of the stairs or the dining room table.

I think my mom thought that she was the only one with these powers out of 8 people in the house. 😃 My mom used to fold our laundry and place it on the stairs so we would take it up next time we went upstairs. Well needless to say, even when it was placed across an entire stair or two, use kids would just see it as an interesting hurtle to overcome as we barrelled up the stairs. 🤷 :nunchuk:

I suppose now that I am a mother I will have to develope these superpowers. 😛

Well…I think my first instinct is to pretend I don’t see that cat puke, “dirty” toilet seat, smooshed up banana, but right away, I think sadly,“Oh, I’m the mom.”

Then, I clean it up.

But, I’m not sure how you are seeing all this right now anyway. Don’t you have a big ole pregnancy belly? Can you even see the floor?

Just wait until dh comes home, hand him the broom and go to bed. 😉

hahaha! That reminds when I had the duty of doing the laundry for the family and would place my brother’s folded laundry on his bed. Would he see it and put the clothes away? No. He’d just move them over to sleep or just sleep on top of them. He still does that, except no one does his laundry anymore. He does it himself, but still doesn’t put the clothes away, but keeps it on his bed.

My dw wonders why I don’t pick things up. It is a matter of confidence. I walk with my head up looking around me, not down.😃
I have to keep an eye out for flying objects

Count me in!

I can see an empty dishwasher when no one else seems to because their dishes go right in the sink…and when anyone looses something somehow I know where it is, or at least I think I must because they always ask me first before they even look for it themselves!! Imagine that. I must be reaaaaaaalllly talented.

I also can see out the back of my head. Especially when people are drinking out of the milk bottle or sticking their fingers in the mashed potatoes that are for dinner, or sweeping crumbs under the table instead of into the dust pan.:onpatrol:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Once again, I needed a chuckle and I got one.

gardens, this phenomenon is colloquially known as “mess blindness”, and is typically, although not always, carried on the Y chromosome. Sadly, I myself suffer from this malady.

LOL, that’s a different perspective!

You’d think since I can’t see my feet I wouldn’t see anything else on the floor either. Tells you how big the mess was yesterday. Or maybe my nesting instinct’s starting to kick into high gear. Or maybe…maybe… I don’t just see things the rest don’t see, but I can also sense them and feel them while walking around the house barefoot and pregnant. Maybe I should wear shoes in the house.
