Hi everyone,
I’m a researcher for a documentary television series called My Last 24, about people making major changes in their lives. The show is produced by Galafilm Productions (www.galafilm.com) and will be broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). We are producing ten one-hour episodes, each of them with a different subject and a different participant.
We are looking into a variety of subjects, from people meeting their birth parents for the first time, to people undergoing major surgery. We were also hoping to film with someone who is discerning a religious vocation and about to enter a convent or monastery.
My Last 24 refers to the last day before that person enters the convent or monastery, but the show is as much about that last day as it is about the journey towards the last 24. We would like to understand people’s motivations for doing this, and get a sense of what this means to them. We’d like to document as much of their journey as possible.
