I think this is the right place for this.

I’m engaged in a discussion with someone who claims that the Church has taken very little action in response to the sexual abuse scandal. The word he used is “tepid.” I am looking for documentation on the steps the Church has taken to prevent future abuses. I also recall hearing that the Church’s policies are being used as templates for the policies of secular institutions; it would be great to have some documentation supporting that as well.

“Tepid” sounds about right. 😦

I wish I had another answer. The work of Leon Podles, Rod Dreher, and the like has more than convinced me that the Church has seriously failed in this matter.

“Tepid” seems rather generous to me.
 
The final Royal Commission documents may not be released until after Cardinal Pell’s trial.
