You’ve got a point there - we had a full sung nuptial mass (missa cantata) since we’d both sung in choirs for many years (and my husband’s a conductor) and it was very important to us. However, the wedding ceremony plus mass did take 1hr 45 mins 🙂 That said, we didn’t hear any complaints - most people said it was beautiful! - but maybe they were just too nice to say negative things on our wedding day 😉
Hi Tinajo,

Sounds wonderful. My daughter sings in a choir here in the U.S. that is exclusively devoted to the Latin Mass. I think the key to happy attendees at a wedding may be discovered less in the length of the ceremony than as it was at the Marriage in Cana, whether there is enough wine. Heh. I know my daughter can arrange to have a beautiful Mass if needed…if I can only afford the wine!

I’ve a MS Word doc with the text for a nuptial TLM. It can be altered to put in the two names, and to further personalise if you so desire. I put in a few explanations of what was happening, as the Mass progressed.

Alot of the people attending were not trad Cats, and would have been unfamiliar with it. Apart from one or two who insisted on trying to chime in with the server, the church was dead silent when it should have been. Which is a whole lot different to any NO wedding I;ve been to, where it’s a competition to see who can talk the loudest before and after the ceremony.

If anyone wants the doc, let me know.

Does the CAF allow for the uploading of files like this? I know it allows for PDFs - but that ain’t much good if you want to edit the doc to personalise the wedding booklet…
Hey! I know its been awhile, but do you still have the word doc? I am looking for one everywhere! Thanks!

if the bride and groom dont know latin and most of those that will be attending the wedding mass? I want the latin mass because I think its beautiful, but my fiance is sorta on the fence because she says no one will understand whats being said.

whats some of your opinions beautiful catholic people.

God bless
My experience is that most people never really listen to a wedding anyway. Why NOT have a Latin Mass?
