Does a rosary have to be blessed?

You can absolutely continue to pray with an unblessed rosary, but I would encourage you to ask the priest at the church you are attending to bless it sometime! 🙂 From what I can infer from your post, I’m guessing you aren’t Catholic, but exploring.
