Hello. I’ve been having a lot of back problems for the past number of years. I am twenty two, and although I’ve had back problems for the past nine years, in the past two years they have gotten really bad. The pain is constant, and I have difficulty rotating my torso and moving my arms because of the tightness in my muscles. I’ve been to orthopedics, physical therapists and so forth, but they haven’t been able to help out.
Finally, I decided to go see a neurologist. The neurologist seems to think that I probably don’t have a neurological condition, but he believes that I have an asymetric chest cavity. He said that one side of my chest is higher than the other side, and that this can visually be seen in how one shoulder is higher than the other, and in how one hip side seems higher than the other. Plus, one pec is higher than the other. The disorder supposedly causes the muscle problems I am having.
The neurologist has only seen me once, and he is hard to get in contact with, but he told me that he was going to call up to see if there is an “asymetric chest cavity” doctor near the town where I’m going to school this upcoming semester.
I’m just curious if anyone has ever had something similiar to what I have, and if it is possible to fix. It really hurts a lot all the time, and it restricts my movement to a significant degree, so I appreciate any helpful words.
If you are a doctor or know a doctor who might know about this, I’d be very much thankful!!!
Unfortunately, in general, the medical care around here isn’t good. The hospital closest to me has the highest mortality rate in the state.
