exercising and toning at home? I walk 1 to 2 miles per day, weather permitting. I also want to tone my thighs and torso. What kind of exercises are good for those areas? —KCT

I don’t know a good site, but I’m hopeing someone else posts a good one 🙂

I can tell you, that I’ve hard that one of the greatest excersizes you can do for every muscle in your body is rebound-jumping on a trampoline! If you’ve ever done it, you know what i mean. it uses every musclin in your body, but it WEARS YOU OUT! os if you have some space, you can get a small trampoline to jump on in your yard or something. Get some good music and jump away, if you’re into that 🙂 I live in an apartment, so no trampolines here!

one thing that I got a while back was one of the fitness magazines in the grocery store. once you get passed all the practically nakid people in it, there are some good moves in there. I would look for one that has a full ab work out. it’ll have a veriety of moves, standing, lying on your back, on your belly and on your side.
hope this helps a little

I don’t have a website, however, once I started these two things, my torso got way stronger and my thighs also.

For the torso, get on the floor and sit on your tailbone, sorta, and lift your legs up into the air somewhat so you have to balance on your butt. Ideally, you should look like the letter “V”–it’s really a Pilates move. Hold for as long as you can–which initially will be about 1 second. I’m up to 50 seconds now.

For thighs, I started stair climbing–not machine stairs but just good old stairs. I’m now doing 10 flights of 20 stairs each. When I started I could barely do 2 flights.

You could google Pilates and they would probably have some pictures of stuff to do too.

We used to live in a townhouse that had 2 long flights of stairs. It was great exercise. Now we are in a split and the whole house has about 8 steps!

I’ll try the V move for the flabby abs! —KCT

I would suggest the Windsor Pilates tapes. You can find them online. She has a hole series now which is great. So when I can’t get to the gym or my trainer I pull out her tapes. They focus on every part of your body. Especially focusing on your core (abs). You can get the ball and band but if you subscribe then they ship it to you. Pilates is really the only thing for me that I see results quickly. I feel so peacefull afterwards. With four small children I will take peace anywher ever I can get it.🙂

Good Luck!
