The Carmelite DCJ Sisters don’t have any houses in the UK, though I wouldn’t doubt that they might consider such a thing. For now, the UK aspirants either come to the General Motherhouse in Sittard, Netherlands (which is really close to the UK) or America.Carmelites? Discalced Carmelites monasteries up and down the UK (16 monasteries) and Ireland (11 monasteries)…Carmelites for the Aged and Infirm have a house in Dublin (wrong country, but close, same language)…maybe the DCJ Sisters, not sure…the Leaven, a secular institute which can be contacted through the Carmelite Fathers of the Ancient Observance…the Donum Dei Missionary Institute’s branch, Missionary Workers of the Immaculate-which is located at Aylesford, the old restored Carmelite priory the last two groups are consecrated women, but not Religious Sisters or nuns, though the latter have a special habit and wear a brown or silver scapular on a chain.
