Unfortunately, it’s all vernacular. Still, I understand the priest is doing things by St. Francis’s original, stricter rule. After reading most of “The Little Flowers of St. Francis”, I’m thinking…it just might work out there. We need friars like St. Francis’s! He merged Faith, Hope and Charity so perfectly! If this priest has the graces and gifts to pull this off, it would be the perfect community as the Friars Minor were in the beginning, anyway–no offense to ones today, but I think it would do them good to go by that rule–at least the spiritual part (networking and complex organizational structures due to them being all over the Earth might require tooling there).
I don’t know why all these more conservative mendicant orders have to be on the coast, except for the EWTN friars and possibly, JMT’s (I know little about theirs, though). Aren’t there really poor or injured people in other states that could use them? Terrorists seem to always be after the East Coast. Well, there is NY, the Pentagon, the U.N. in N.Y., and other things like that all focused there.
Anyways, I think the priest has an Irish name, but that’s all I remember.
