I went to www.alabamacatholicresources.com and saw that someone named Ghost of Morocco hacked it. It looks like it has some arabic writeing on the top of the page. It’s a shame,because they had some of the best mp3 downloads of catholic classes I have found on the net.

I haven’t heard of that site, too bad. I would have liked to surf there for a while.
But on the other hand, I’m a computer programmer, it’s kinda funny.

I ran a virus scanner after I looked at the website,and did not find anything. Is there anything I should keep a I eye on. I don’t know much about computers. Also how do I take the link down I won’t let me edit it.

This sounds unlikely. Can you provide any kind of source that would explain how going to this url, without clicking on anything on the site, would open your computer up to the hacker?

My firewall shut them down from invading my computer. Open up your add/remove programs in your control panel to see if unwanted background ad program was added. The site tried to load an ad for mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/how-to-use-stinger.aspx on my computer.

see if you can find the kilroy that was left on your machine.

Interesting. I got nothing. My firewall (which is quite tight about anything trying to be installed; heck, it’s an aggravation when I’m trying to install something) did nothing. Checking my programs list came up clean. And a full Norton system scan found nothing.

Regardless, if you had the experience, others are duly warned!

I did e-mail the owner of the page - telling him he was hacked - and he never responded

I think this thread is worthy of a bump, because the site is now back up and it does have a lot of good Catholic audio and video files!
