There’s a book I read in high school - even wrote a report on it - but I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it. I’m thinking of rereading it, so if you can help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it. I guess my memory of it is rather convoluted, as I didn’t really read it all that carefully, and to think that I actually did well on the book report! Anyway, I think it’s about this guy, who’s friends with this other guy, and this other guy is all rich and stuff. The rich guy has two kids, a son and a daughter. I think there were two books. The first book was narrated by the guy, and the second book was narrated by the son of his rich friend. The rich guy’s son likes performing magic, I think, or even made a career out it or would’ve liked to. Anyway, I believe the first book starts out with a snowball fight, and the rich guy accidentally hits a pregnant woman, and she gave birth to a deformed child because of it. I think that’s really all I can remember about it. There was something about canonization of someone, or someone they were trying to canonize. Anyway, if you know the name of the book, I’d really appreciate it if you’d let me know. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I think the setting of the books is somewhere in Canada.
