I am considering enrolling in CDU and getting a Master’s Degree in Theology. All I want to know is do they teach orthodoxy, or are they just another one of these liberal outfits that likes to use the Catholic name to take people’s money. I don’t have the time or money to go to a traditional university/seminary, otherwise if I did, I’d probably apply to Franciscan University of Steubenville. This is the only option I’ve seen where it’s all online, and it doesn’t seem too expensive, plus I don’t have to quit my job to be a full time student, I can do it at home. Any (name removed by moderator)ut on my question will be appreciated.

Franciscan University does offer several completely online options now:

They used to require a few classes be taken on campus even for distance learning students, but that is not the case anymore.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with CDU. They make the Newman Guide list for Catholic colleges that are faithful.

I know a number of the faculty members at both places. I’d have no qualms recommending either place.

Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut Joe. I will chat with the people at Stubenville before I decide. Thanks and God Bless

No problem. I like to talk Catholic higher education. 🙂

I’ll also add that if you look at the CDU faculty page, you see a good number of them spent time in Steubenville. 🙂
