Hi people, I have a question that’s troubling me.
at this point it seems pretty clear that evolution is a factual explanation of the origin of human species. Also, recently I’ve heard the creation story in Genesis referred to as “biblical poetry” rather than an actual account of history. But what does that mean for the sin of Adam? If he didn’t literally do what bible said he did in disobeying God, but is instead a fictional character, does that mean original sin is also not a real thing? Is it just a metaphor for our disconnection from God? At what point in evolution did we adapt the ability to obey or disobey god?
Ok so that’s 4 questions that were troubling me, but if anyone could help me understand I’d be very thankful
Cheers, Ellie
