So this thought just kinda came to my mind lately. Does God have preferences? He chose to decorate the world with mostly green and blue so maybe He likes those colors better? Well then it goes into even larger questions. God chose the Jewish people as His own and even calls them His bride in Isaiah. Some people are chosen and baptized and others are not. Some people are chosen to be priest and are very close to God their whole life and others are not. I know Jesus is God but as a man also do you think He likes some people more than others? I think of the Pharisees. He didnt seem to like them very much as compared to his beloved disciple John, I know as God, God loves everyone but as a man as well does He love those chosen for Him more? I dont know. I know its a crazy thought, just thinking thats all. Whats your thoughts…

I don’t think that God would have a “favorite people” any more than He would have a favorite color. He created them all. Rather, He prefers certain things, and one of them is that we should obey Him so that He can spend eternity with us. He picks certain people for certain vocations and selected certain people to guide in a special way, all to achieve this.

God created every color of the rainbow including black, and they all appear in nature. The green grass grows in black and brown dirt. Tree trunks aren’t blue. Birds are every color and so are insects. Humans aren’t green or blue unless they are ill or acting in a movie/play.

Jesus died for every person who has, does, and will ever live! He did not die for some people and not others. God loves everyone infinitely and calls us to Him! The reason some people are baptised and others aren’t as you mentioned in your question and how some people do good things and others do bad is because everyone has free will

God loves everyone and everything equally and infinitely. God is not a respecter of persons.

He is Love and Mercy itself, and he is Infinite, so he is Infinitely Merciful and Loving to all his creatures.

He loves Adolf Hitler and Satan as much as he loves Jesus and Mary.

The difference between Jesus and Hitler and Satan isn’t that God loves them less, it’s that they don’t love God.

Jewish people were chosen because of Abraham and his righteousness. But the old covenant was replaced by the new covenant and the good news spread to all the nations.

Speaking of colors, my favorite is orange, but I wouldn’t paint a whole room in orange. Pops here and there in accents instead are perfect.

I think the bible gives us a pretty good idea of what God prefers.

I remember that He zapped Sodom and Gomorrah for example, just one of many clues we are given as to His preferences.

Then there’s the Catechism also. 🤔

I don’t know the exact answer. But I do strongly feel that God has favorites. Not that he loves someone less or more, but he favors/listens to/uses them more. Not sure how to articulate it, but I did hear a priest briefly talk about it

I don’t exactly believe in religion, but I do believe we are created because of a reason. We all be living a life as of punishments or as a gift.
I like Morgan Freeman views on religion he is a great guy. People are nasty, How come people believe that he harasses women, or whatever there is.

Maybe the best answer to the question is another question. Does God have greater pleasure in some people, things, more than others. In the old testament you see often God is angry with the Israelite, other times they bring Him grief and other times love and joy. It makes me think that we are that way. Sometimes we bring God greater pleasure such as when we seek His will above our own. When we enjoy being with Him He also enjoys us. It also does make me think of food, colors, etc do some bring more pleasure to God. Certainly Jesus being fully human must have had preferences in food, seem like he liked wine 😉 Just some thoughts…

I just don’t see that in life, in the Bible and in Church teaching. See Romans 9:
10 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac 11 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), 12 it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
Israel’s Rejection and God’s Justice
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! 15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” 16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” 18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

I don’t think that God would have a “favorite people” any more than He would have a favorite color.
This is demonstrably false. God’s favorite people were the Jews (chosen) into which Jesus was born and He revealed himself. God ignored all the other people on Earth at the time; Chinese, Mayans, Aborigines etc.
