Do you think everybody should wear normal dresses instead of cassocks, mitre, etc?

That is a good question @Rutherford2 .

I think some clerical dress looks silly .

I prefer the top two photos of Pope John Paul II to the last two , but that’s my preference .

The bishops and priests don’t tell me what I should wear , and it’s not my business what they wear .

In each of these photos, the Pope is dressed appropriately.

When a person is in a position of authority, he is supposed to accept that he is in part in the position of an actor playing a role.

Those clothes are not on Karl Wojtyla as himself, the clothes are on The Vicar of Christ, just as Secret Service agents are not there to guard So-and-so, but the President.
