For example would it really matter if i prayed the Luminous on a Sunday?

A prayer given in love is always accepted.

Praying the Rosary with the days of the Church is encouraged because this is a sign of unity among the faithful.

imo I would start with whatever the mysteries of the day are and then move on to the next mysteries, but this isn’t an obligation of course.

There have been many discussions on when to pray what mysteries over the course of the life of CAF, and they all distill to one simple statement: the Rosary is a private devotion; when you’re alone, pray it however you wish.

(Of course, when you’re in a group, it is best to do what the group is doing 😮 )

Doesn’t matter. You can follow the traditional days for the Mysteries (which some people adapt by choosing whether to add the Luminous Mysteries or not) or just choose which ones you wish to pray.

It is more about one in prayers. And why not you want to follow the allocated days for the mysteries?

The Rosary is a private devotion. You can of course pray the mysteries on whatever day you want.

Marsmallow1, if the desire to pray the luminous mysteries is from your heart, and the act is joyous, then why not on Sunday?
The mysteries are meant to be a prayerful reminder for all of us. It would be well to recite them all from time to time.
Jesus freed us from sin! So, fear not, and pray often.

i shift the mysteries up; i try to stay to the “orthodoxy” of the “big four”

but i look at my schedule and i do what i can do

if one mystery is your “favorite” (mine is the “Glorious”) try to get that in as soon as soon you can during the week

Our Holy Mother is not going to hold you to any type of “strict schedule”

She just asked that “you” pray the Rosary and has guaranteed many benefits for doing so…
