Jesus does not suffer as He did upon the Cross anymore. This was a single and eternal sacrifice and in this sense Jesus Who is God does not suffer, but He does suffer the outrages against Him and as He is God the only reason He endures this with joy is because of His Mercy and Love as He is Mercy and Love.
Jesus suffers with His Body, that is His Mystical Body that make up the Bride the Church. Jesus is intimately united to His Children. He dwells in them and them in Him and He suffers with them and enables them to endure their sufferings, their cross.
Jesus suffers in all humanity as all are made in His Image and Likeness ‘When you did this for the least of my bretheren you did it for Me’.
It is a mystery how Jesus suffers but in becoming Incarnate God united Himself to humanity so deeply as to suffer for them and after His death and ressurrection to be so closely united to them as they are His Body and as such He suffers with them.
If you ever find anyone who say they can explain suffering and all the answers to it, I would outrightly call them a liar. The suffering of humanity is a great mystery and so is the mystical nature of the redemptive value human suffering has in Christ Jesus and how closely Jesus is united to the suffering.
I love the Cross deeply, I meditate on its most sacred mysteries with the Living Prayer of my life and the salvific work of Jesus upon the Cross and the mystery of the cross of people, so deep is this mystery I feel as though I have only scratched the surface, so deep and magnificent, so glorious a work Jesus did it will be an eternal contemplation.
In the Living Prayer of my life.
