What does the bible say about it?
There is also the dragon image in Revelation. The Bible refers to Satan as a snake. But the image of the Adversary as a red, forked-tail, horned being with a pitchfork was taken from depictions of Pagan gods such as Baphomet and Pan. The early Christians imagined that the gods of the pagans must be demons and accordingly treated their idols as statues of demons.
I have heard that both references - Genesis Hebrew ‘snake’ and Revelation Greek ‘dragon’ can refer to a ‘serpent’ and as such there may be some continuity between the two references. There is also the dragon image in Revelation.
My own thoughts are that he is a fallen angel. Angels don’t have bodies so I don’t think the devil has one.
However we have seen angels appear as human beings so I believe that the devil could too. It may also be possible to take the appearence of other creatures.
Isn’t there a place (I think in Revelation) that says (some) angels have threee pairs of wings.Angels don’t have bodies so I don’t think the devil has one.
Don’t we? I think some paintings are inspired, even if not recognized by the Church as revealed truth.Weird how we have divinely inspired words but not divinely inspired pictures
Does anybody know the answer?Okay so this clears who the horned beings were.
What about dragon? Was it Satan? Cz Satan was already depicted as a serpent
What about dragon? Was it Satan?
Rev 12:9 identifies the dragon as Satan. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Angels don’t have physical wings because they don’t have physical bodies. The descriptions in Revelations and other places are symbolic images.Isn’t there a place (I think in Revelation) that says (some) angels have threee pairs of wings.
How is that compatible with not having a body’
