Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about this. Is any form of knowingly harmful actions against yourself against the sanctity of life?

I think we are very quick to label things as “sinful”. It doesn’t mean smoking is a good idea though.

Like everything else, moderation is the key. A cigarette here and there is like a drink here and there or a soda here and there. A pack a day is like a six pack of beer a day is like a 2 liter of soda a day.

But smoking is physically an psychologically addictive, making “moderation” a difficult thing to accomplish. Smoking is basically like killing yourself very slowly.

Addiction varies from person to person. My eldest sister was addicted to opioids for several years. My other sister has a tobacco problem. I smoke here and there, but sweets are my vice.

Individual discernment is key.
