Does the Church allow organ donation in the case of brain death?

I know the Catechism allows (and even praises) organ donation after death but does the Church have a position on organ donation in the case of brain death (one of the medically acceptable states for organ donation). Often in brain death the heart is still beating with some bodily functions continuing, is this a problem? What definition of death is the Catechism using? Thank you I would also be interested in any sources to better understand this ethical issue.
