Does the current pan-orthodox synod/council carry any weight for the Eastern Catholic churches?

My understanding that many of the Eastern Catholic Churches derive their liturgy and theology from corresponding Eastern Orthodox churches, while also affirming as authoritative the doctrines and dogmas put forward by the Roman Catholic Magisterium.

Taking into consideration this theological link and the shared heritage between the Eastern Catholic churches and the Eastern Orthodox Churches, what impact will the current Pan-Orthodox council have on the Eastern Catholic Churches, if any?

I have to say No – just like I would say that a Catholic council like Vatican II carries no weight for the Western-Rite Orthodox Churches.

But I cannot guarantee that 100.0% of Eastern Catholics will agree with me.

No. I can’t even see some of the punchiest Melkites I know arguing that it would.

The very fact it’s only a local synod means it only has an affect on the bishops who attend and accept its precepts.
