Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I am curious as to whether or not the Pope has to confirm Patriarchs to their see in the Eastern Catholic Patriarchates. Or do the Eastern Catholic Patriarchates install their own Patriarchs autonomously?

Thank you.

No, he does not. The patriarch-elect is immediately enthroned upon election by the synod. The synod is required to notify the Holy See and the Pope then extends a renewed gesture of communion.
There are degrees of autonomy among the Eastern Catholic Churches. The Patriarchal Churches elect their own primate without Roman involvement. The Major Archepiscopal Churches elect their own primate, but ratification must come from Rome before the enthronement of the new Major Archbishop. The primates of churches of Metropolitan rank are appointed by Rome but from among those names selected by the hierarchs of that church.
