Dog death

A friend in our bible study at church recently lost his dog to what he suspects was the recent 100 degree heat and he is pretty torn up over it.

He had two 10 year old dogs of the same breed and the one handled the 100 degree temperature fine, but the other one keeled over. There was plenty of water and shade, but he still wonders if he has committed a sin by not taking better care of the dog.

I told him that if he did the best that he could and if he didn't do it intentionally, it is not a sin.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

It was just one of those things that occur in nature. Perhaps the dog had some other kind of unknown illness that was aggravated by the heat.

I really do not think he committed any kind of sin for which he could be held morally culpable.

@Astro, I fully agree with @HomeschoolDad. Your friend did nothing wrong. Proof of that is that one dog survived unharmed. Was he guilty of some kind of discrimination, taking good care of one dog while neglecting the other? No, of course he wasn’t. He was doing his best for both of them.

Thanks all.

I saw the dog owner in church today. He didn’t bring the dog issue up when I spoke to him, so I just left it alone.

God Bless!!
