I just hope I don’t come across like that . It’s a communication style I dislike. If I do I’m probably joking.
Yeah OK confidence is a good thing but when the speaker starts to talk or write like the sole owner of truth, then I get either turned off or suspect their argument is actually weak.
Even the objective truth for Christians “Jesus Christ is the Son of God” can be communicated in a way that respects the listener/reader. The problem as I see it is, that if some of us think we know the truth we like to “lecture the ignorant.” It’s our chance to shine. To hammer home the winning goal.

Yet some would argue that a dogmatic style is direct and unpretentious. Debating with a waffler or someone who is going off on tangents, being vague or expecting only PC language be used. I can see there, that a direct and even dismissive approach could be justified and actually preferred.

Not really, your threads are interesting GC ,or Bob if I may call you 😁 your avatar reminds me of a past prime minister.
Sometimes the line between cynical and funny can be blurry ,but that’s just how I inturperate it 🙂 I mean this in a kind and constructive way.God bless .
