Here’s a new game: you have to write haiku’s with a word from the previous post.

The smell of the sea is great
Kelp, salt and limpet
Small or big God cares

Tiberius lived on Capri.
He must have liked
The smell of the sea.

I liked the haiku
But shouldn’t syllables be
Five, Seven, then Five?

I did not know that,
So thank you for giving me
That information.

It was my pleasure.
You are certainly welcome.
Your haiku’s good now.

Haiku should also
Include Nature in its theme
Else it’s senryu

Maybe that is true.
Most of my haikus do lack
The theme of nature.

(True story)

The thrush from last year
Has come back, tapping again
On our window panes.

Let’s hope that the thrush
Does not be the main reason
To replace windows.

Outside my window
Hummingbirds fly to and fro
Drink from the feeder.

Hummingbirds are cool.
The only bird that can fly
Backwards and Sideways.

Cool is the autumn
'til frigid snowflakes cover
the summer’s last leaves

The hunter walks by,
Turkey in cover of stealth,
Unseen in the tree.

My apple tree leans
The leaves don’t have far to fall
Wish they’d rake themselves

From behind the leaves
A monkey’s inquiring eyes
Gaze back into mine.

We need a game
Where you can mine and make crafts.
Oh, wait a minute…

Minute by minute
The days are growing shorter
The air is so cold

It is a cold day,
Got four more years of winter
Because of Trudeau.

(Figuratively speaking, of course)
