For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Don Camillo series of books by Giovanni Guareschi is about a parish priest in a village in the Po Valley in Italy, starting in the immediate post-WW2 era (The Little World of Don Camillo) and ending just after Vatican 2 (Don Camillo Meets Hell’s Angels). They’re really wonderful little books.
