Donnie Darko (2001)

I thought I would eventually get sick of it, but just caught it again and it’s still one of my favorite movies ever. What an impressive film. A lot of times these “intellectual” movies come across as pretentious to me, but this one never did. It’s really a genius piece of art in my opinion.

Any other fans?

It’s one of my favorites as well.
A deeply spiritual movie full of Christian themes.
See one of the few reviews to pick up on the subtleties.

That’s interesting! Certainly there are many religious themes in the movie - free will & fate, sacrifice & redemption, etc.

I have the mad world song on my iPod.

My friends and I recently watched this movie again. It was the third time I’d seen it and I still don’t know what’s going on.

I do love the Mad World scene. Gives me shivers every time.
