Do you think as a Catholic Christian, I should enjoy listening to this song? If you read the lyrics, it celebrates sin:
Don’t stop me now. I’m having a good time.
It basically celebrates being in party animal mode.
Yet I just love the sound,… I try to play the instrumental version of it on classical guitar. (I’m getting there)

I was asking God for a sign and my brother put on this song. The sign I have been praying for is a shooting star and so of course the lyrics feature that and my brother doesn’t listen to much classic rock. Either God being funny and saying you’ll get a sign in my way and time or a super bizarre coincidence but the fact this popped up again is bizarre. Hope you are having an excellent night!

It’s just a song, and from what I remember, it isn’t necessarily promoting a bad lifestyle- God wants us to “have a good time”- but maybe you just don’t have your good time the way Queen would have his.

You will need to place this song right after. So basically a 1:1 ratio should counter balance your little fiascoes.

I don’t know but you could say something similar of this classic as well where Catholics Bing and Rosemary sing of their “affair.”

I’ve got a better idea for you, young man. You need to moderate. Shoot for the golden mean. Pace yourself.

I like Queen alot 👑

Btw are you serious or is this tongue in cheek?
If you are serious, then perhaps it’s depends on the effect that the song has on you.
For me it can just be a song about having fun (if you ignore the sex machine etc part).

Did you go see Queen when they were in your part of the world recently?

I’m dudely serious.
No I do love this song honestly. And I love trying to play it on guitar. My conflict are the lyrics…oh and my voice trying to imitate Freddy Merc. 🙂

No but I wish I saw them in the eightees when Freddy was alive. I think Queen’s songs are more sensational than the Beatles…but of course I love the beatles too.

Its just a song.

In my opinion Queen is the greatest rock band ever, with the Rolling Stones a close second.

It’s a feel-good party song. It would be tricky, but not impossible, to fit the line “I’m a sex machine” with Catholic theology. Apart from that, the lyrics are fine, and very imaginative.

I saw Queen in the late 70s but was too young to appreciate it.

That is a form of superstition. God does not work that way.

I think Struggling was talking about coincidences, …which are perfectly valid.

Very true I’m sorry  I need to stop looking for signs or looking for evidence of God and just believe in the thought of God.

Maybe try thinking of it like as in a wedding party fun/good time as opposed to a binge drinking, twerking “party”.
