Many say the Douay-Rhiems is hard to read but with this audio bible it also moves across the screen ,good for learning english or for memory,The have a video on it at the website

I recently ordered this (only the New Testament is available for now). I really like it. The Douay-Rheims may be difficult to read but as an audio Bible it is great, especially when read by a professional! Of course I loved the KJV audio Bible as well.

I’m surprised how much I enjoy this translation. I have heard that the Douay-Rheims has been revised and made to conform more closely with the original Greek and Hebrew. I have not spent any time with the Old Testament (and I can’t read Hebrew anyway) but that has become apparent as I listen to the New Testament. Where the Greek text suddenly switches to the present tense even when the narrative is about a past event ( a common convention in Greek - ie. he saith instead of he said) the Douay-Rheims does the same. When the Greek makes a distinction between second person singular pronouns, so does the Douay-Rheims (thee and you) – but modern English has lost that ability. It’s very clunky like the Greek and I appreciate that.

BTW I copied only the MP3 files (and not the lrc files) to my cheap MP3 player and it works fine.
 
The Deuterocanonicals for this audio Bible are finally completed, and are excellent. The rest of the Old Testament should be available later this year, hopefully.
 
The web page is not clear whether this is Challoner’s revision or the original D/R. :confused:
