I recently had an experience where I got a strange sense of peace and I felt like someone said that my prayer had been answered. I felt it was the Holy Spirit.
Since then, I have been unable to pray for it as I feel like it would doubting Him who said that my prayer had been granted.
But since I stopped praying I am scared that maybe it was the Devil, who is trying to stop me from praying by giving me these kind of thoughts.
Let me know what you think…

“I believe, help my unbelief”. I’ve asked the Lord that a few times. Continue to pray and if you think you need to, ask to be forgiving for having doubt. Tim

Satan cannot provide peace, period.

If you perceive peace it has only one source and that is Jesus.

Your prayer was a grace and thank God for it and do not let satan take that from you because whenever there is grace by the power of the Holy Spirit surely satan will quickly follow to attempt to disturb the Peace of Christ in the souls of those Jesus has granted graces to.

Thank Jesus greatly for this beautiful grace He has given to you in prayer and resume your prayer life immediately because only satan would desire for you not to pray because without prayer faith dies and all hope is lost.

Pray, hope, wait, trust and stop worrying.🙂

thank you so much for your answer… I will resume praying… as i stopped praying i felt all the old bad emotions coming back… so you are right!! why would satan provide peace??

The discomfort and fear you probably felt might have been due to a change in your spirituality. I’ve heard that in order to make us grow, the Spirit gives us great comfort and then lets us feel distant from Him, the Son, and the Father. Perservere in times like this becasue the result will be a deeper understanding of God.

Keep in mind, the Spirit did not cause the fear (God never desires any of us to be scared!), but because of our fallen nature, we sometimes can’t fully interpret what’s happening to us and why.

Does that make sense? I’m going through a similar experience: my spiritual life will be blooming one month and then in another month, it feels dead.

Peace be with you.
