This is to save another thread from hijacking.Doulos1 has stated the Pope is an anti-Christ and the Church is in league with satan:rolleyes: Jesus went through the same type of accusations and he said we would to this just confirms Jesus word.God Bless
 
I’m confused about exactly WHICH pope is the anti-christ.
I mean…Luther made this claim too - but it turned out THAT pope was not the antichrist.
Ever since then every pope has been accused of the same thing…but NONE of them turned out to be the antichrist.

It doesn’t look like JPII has enough gas in his tank to pull off the whole anti-christ world denomination thing…so it’s highly unlikely HE is the antichrist either.

So…is it the NEXT pope who will FINALLY be the anti-christ?
Or is ALL the popes who get to share this title?

This is really getting very silly and very old isn’t it?

You’ve basically got the right idea, but I think Jesus forsaw more believable accusers than the member you’re worked up about.🙂

Well, the problem happens to be that these people read books written by Dave Hunt who is known for claiming that the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon and the Pope is the AntiChrist. But they never do go and check the information that is available to them in the Scripture. I will get back to this point about not doing as claimed - being like the Bereans.

It is the classic anti-Catholic thing. In this case we have Doufus making all sorts of anti-Catholic remarks, never supports the remarks from reliable sources, and thinks that the Bible is God. I mean he is smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_17_4.gif to a book that consists of paper, ink and two covers. Yes, Scripture is the Word of God. However, Scripture is best described as that which is divinely inspired but written by human authors complete with the human biases of those authors. Only when we realise this do we discover the truly divine inspiration within the Scripture.

The Scripture identifies the hallmarks of the AntiChrist. He is the “man of sin”, the “lawless man”. Scripture mentions that there are many anti-christs. Why? Because these are the people who do the bidding of Satan.

It is Satan who is he AntiChrist, not the Pope, not Hitler, not Saddam Hussein, smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1/1_4_34.gif and not even Osama Bin Laden (even though most of us have other ideas on that score)

I think scripture is quite clear about who is Antichrist:

1Jo 2:22 - Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 2Jo 1:7 - For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh; such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Now to me this seems more a description of those who deny the incarnation.
 
The accusation that the Pope is the anti-Christ or an anti-Christ is rediculous,to say the very least and in the kindest terms.This Pope in particular went to more country’s to proclaim the Gospel of Christ that any other Pope.The Gospel of Christ I say:D These unfounded falsehoods are rediculous.
 
To claim JP II is the anti-Christ is to lose all credebility.

I agree. Expecially with this pope. You might say that some people, including popes have prefigued the anti-Christ, but JP II would not be one of them. As John said, “There are many anti-Christs” out there.

I would be curious as to why JP II would be considered the anti-Christ–possibly Loe and some Popes before him were anti-Christs.

BTW: This may get me suspended, but Dave Hunt is a oddball in more ways than one. Most of the Evangelical community (scholarly) does not accept any of his propeganda.

You seem to believe it is possible that some popes may have qualified as being anti-christs.

When I discovered the internet back in '98, and religion on the web and anti-Catholicism on the web, my site began as a hobby listing those Churches that believe the pope is the antichrist, the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon, etc.
