Can anyone please provide me with a link where I can legitimately* download a PDF version of S. John XXIII’s 1962 Roman Missal?

*I know copyright laws are complex so I don’t know if editions of the EF Missal can be validly obtained on the Internet.

That is not an answer I anticipated. I am not sure why you need to know although my reason is neither clandestine nor nefarious. I simply want an electronic copy on my PC. It would be exclusively for my personal use. I have no intention of altering it, re-publishing it, printing it off, selling it or sharing it with others. In fact, nothing than being able to access and read it whenever I choose on my PC.

I don’t think @Fauken was assuming any ill will on your part. It could be that there are different kinds of resources out there, and depending on what you need it for, one might be better than another.

That is precisely correct, Father. I asked that because the link I would give someone who just wanted to follow today’s Mass is not the link I would give to someone who wanted the entire missal, and vice versa.

In that case, you want the entire thing:

Online Roman and Tridentine Missal for research Liturgy and Sacraments
https://sanctamissa.org/en/resources/books-1962/ This has all you want and more. The missal is “Missale Romanum”.

I simply want to be able to access the 1962 Missale Romanum.

A decent layout would be nice, and with the rubrics definitely in red and the text of the Mass, orations, lections, etc. in black, i.e. a little more than just the basic text.

I mentioned the uses to which I would not put it in my previous post because of what end user licence may be attached to any download, e.g. non-commercial, personal use.

One thing I have failed to mention is I want one where the Latin and English are side by said. Unfortunately, I don’t have Latin; it’s only got as far as my bucket list.

You’re going to have a hard time finding a downloadable missal with both English and Latin on it, I think. The other link I have has both English and Latin:

http://www.divinumofficium.com/cgi-bin/missa/missa.pl

But it is not the full missal, just for today’s Mass.

In that case, you want the entire thing:
I understand now! Apologies if I wasn’t explicit about that. I assumed (and we all know the cliche) that by saying ‘Roman Missal’ my intent was implicit.

Yes, I do want the entire Missal and not just, say, the Ordinary of the Mass.

That would be the entire thing, however it’s entirely in Latin unfortunately. Still, the pictures are quite nice.

Thank you looked like a good resource.

I did start to download it. Although it was only in Latin and entirely in black text I thought it’s still a resource and won’t be taking up self space. However, it caused my computer to freeze and I’ve just had to do a forced shutdown. So, I’m not making another attempt to download it. I shall continue to search for what I’m after.

I would suggest you check Internet Archive (archive.org). They have a lot of old missals in the public domain to choose from, and some might be downloadable. I use several of their old missals, although I don’t download them, I just bookmark them and then read them right in the archive’s E-reader so I don’t have more files taking up space on my devices.

My researches have found a 1962 Roman Missal, which I like the look of but it has one drawback for me. It is entirely in Latin.

I also have concerns about it. On the title page it says:
This is the 1962 Missale Romanum of the Masonic New Order of the Mass scanned for research purposes in full color by the Fatima Movement.
(Emphasis added.) I don’t know what they mean here by masonic and it makes me suspicious. Also, I’ve never heard of the Fatima Movement and don’t know who they are or what they do.

Would www.extraordinaryform.org have anything like what you’re looking for?

I’ve used it before to print out programs for EF Masses in one of the parishes where I was assigned.

I haven’t looked into their heresy however one of the websites has the name ourladyisgod, which I think gives a big clue of what their heresy is.

I didn’t want to do that. I shall not be delving deeper. Downloaded Missal deleted from my PC.

Hi TheAntitheist

I received an email to inform me of your post, which, unfortunately, you’ve withdrawn’ Therefore, I cannot judge the utility of what you were attaching.

Thank you for researching this for me. I don’t seem to be getting very far myself.
