Does he treat people over the phone, as in ordering tests and prescribing medications? I think I have a hormonal imbalance that affects my menstrual cycle, but I really don’t want to take the Yaz my gyn recommended out of fear of a blood clot. I was hoping I could have a consultation with him to at least see what the next step to finding out what is wrong is. However, I live in the Northeast and am not in a position to travel to his office. I don’t have a lot of extra cash but have really good insurance(Anthem) that covers just about every kind of reproductive technology.

You will have to ask the Institute. However, Dr. Hilgers has trained many physicians in NaPro technology and may be able to refer to a dr. in the NE.

Hi Sam,

There are NaPro-trained physicians in Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.

You can find the list on the left-hand menu of the Fertility Care Centers of America website:

I got treatment from PPVI back when I lived in VT. You need to find a charting instructor (there are some who work over the phone/Internet), and chart for a few months. Then you can mail the charts out to Dr. Hilgers, and he’ll render an opinion.

I’m not entirely sure about medications and treatments without even a single in-person visit. Some will do some things. I used to go to an AWESOME NaPro doctor in MA, and I wanted to remain his patient after I moved to KY last year. He did phone consults, and sent test orders to the local lab for me when I was pregnant last year, and ordered the prescriptions through the mail, all without any in-person visits…but, he’d seen me before.

(If there’s any way you could make it to see him, I’d highly recommend it - it’s worth the travel)
