Hello. I’m slated to start psychotherapy and spiritual direction with Dr. Raymond Lloyd Richmond soon. I’ve read a few posts on this site expressing some concerns about his methods of practice. These concerns were supported with web links, however the web links contain error messages. Does anyone happen to know if these web links still exist and if so how they can be accessed? Additionally, any other information/feedback, positive or negative, regarding Dr. Richmond’s methodologies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

With the mention of psychotherapy, that is medical treatment and we cannot give advice nor opinions.

As far as Spiritual Direction, your Diocese ought to be able to provide you information.

Ok. I understand. Would I be able to receive feedback if I rephrase my question? Basically, I would just like to know if the information on his website: www.chastitysf.com is helpful or harmful, and if this information aligns with the teachings of the Church.

Has anyone heard of Raymond Lloyd Richmond, Phd? I came across his website chastitysf.guidetopsychology.com in searching for some guidance for weight loss. I was wondering if his website would be helpful or harmful! Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I saw that post as well as the replies. Unfortunately, the replies don’t list specifics as to why the information on his website might be harmful. Some of the replies tried to by attaching links, but those web links lead to error pages. I’m hoping someone will read my posts and provide multiple specific examples as to whether or not his website reflects Church doctrine.

To read the entire website would take more time than I am willing to commit, this page is bothersome IMHO.

Call the Bishop of the Diocese where this Doctor practices. When someone uses the name “Catholic” in their business name, they ought have the permission of the Ordinary to do so. Find out if he has that.

You can search him on databases that review psychologists.

Also, if he’s practicing, he needs a license. Check if there are malpractice claims against him, or disciplinary actions.
