I remember when those series along with Pokemon, Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 where the favourite stuff for kids to watch

Then, Evangelical Pastors made of these a sinister conspiracy full of subliminal messages, symbols, etc The parents were concerned about this, and began a widespread moral panic, and Catholic people believed waht those Evangelicals had to say, and next, those kids grow to be Otakus and antiCatholic, antiChristian bigots, who believe that religion is the reason of the ignorance of their parents, you have to read the anime forums from Latin American Countries to know about the prejudice against Catholicism beacuse those Evangelicals, and, they were giving anti anime propanganda in schools, and signing their text with “Hermanos de la Salle” (Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools), they are cowards, and if you didn’t know, they are antiCatholics, so that was a great oportunity to put people against the Church

God Bless You !!!

:):)🙂

No offense but looking for demonic symbols in the manner that you are doing is a manifestation of paranoia. You might want to break that habit as it is the first step to the path that Jack Chick is walking.

Far from it, the devil controlls this world man wether you believe it or not, Most cartoon have hidden meaning’s or messeges which could either be good or bad. So what the three six’s are just three six’s? haha.

The subject of Demonology and Exorcism are my favorite subjects regarding the Church. Thus, I can definitely tell you that I’ve done my research and that Dragon Ball is no tool of the devil.

As for three sixes, are you going to tell me that if I come up with that on a Math quiz, the quiz is cursed? Please know the difference between being religious and being superstitious. The former actually demands rationality, the latter is just plain stupid.

Well, I’m not sure if I’ve really gotten an answer. The comics are in the young adult section and in the graphic novel section of the libraries. Should I complain, or is this something to let go?

I have answered you already. You’re being over-scrupulous and this is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Skipping a show based on one’s conscience is potentially just as valid as skipping a show based on one’s taste.
Even if that’s true, to impose it as something that should be the same for everybody else is not only irrational but also quite unfair. So watching Dragon Ball makes him feel uncomfortable, I don’t care because it’s not the case with everybody. I do care about someone who thinks it should though.

Let it go. This is not a bad series. It’s sci fi in nature, but it’s not bad. It’s about aliens to put it simply…
It not like having ecchi or hentai on the shelf.

There’s a difference!?
A huge difference!!

One is action based with comedic sequences based mostly around an alien theme (DBZ)

while the other is comedy with an action backdrop based on individual potential (DB)

Sorry I was just looking at some old threads and I liked how you concisely describes DB & DBZ but I’m curious as to how you’d describe DBGT though?.Personally just to say to say if someone were to ask me what the WHOLE series (I’m consider all three despite GT’s debatable canoncity) I’d say it’s the near whole life story of Goku.

I remember when DBZ first aired, my friends and I couldn’t comprehend why it was taking Goku several episodes to ‘charge’ a single attack. Then we found out most of the anime’s episodes were just filler to wait for the manga to catch up. So definitely watch Dragonball Kai instead of DBZ because all the garbage has been (supposedly) edited out.

I used to watch DB, DBZ and some of DBGT, as i done an animation course, art and design and my love for cartoons, comics, video games, I used to love Dragon ball-Z|, but i see where the others are coming from, just search on youtube about the illuminati in tv, films and music, and it’s does make sense, DB does have hidden messages, the three six’s on the car makes me think why three six’s? the number doesn’t represent good luck does it? With all cartoons the thing we like when we was kids even till now is the who Good vs Evil, (Avatar, Thundecats, He-Man, Naruto etc) which is in most action cartoons, it’s just now the difference between good and evil are blurred,

Lord of the Rings i see some Christian refrences, and Tolken and C.S Lewis was friends, and Christian, Catholic religion had an influence on both although im sure neither of them were,
God is truly amazing to gives us imagination to write stories and produces artwork, which comes from our own imagination, now i know my mum and a few of my Catholic friends say why don’t i do comicbook animation on the Saints which i think is great, and if done well could appeal to the masses, but i do think coming up with your own stories and characters is good to as it shows creativeness if that’s a word. But also i do think that why should it be writers, artist, singers have the best music, shows, and work why can’t catholics in the media do stuff which is also exciting and entertaining but also educational and also evangelising, and produce video games? ‘The Passion Of the Christ’ ‘Super Pope’ etc, it’s doesn’t have to be boring. Sorry if i seem like i’m going off topic, i just feel we can produce stuff which will appeal to the masses not just one particular target audence. I’m still and always will be a fan of Manga and Anime, yes the Japs are crazy, but there are one which is not voilent and have no sexual innuendo.
It’s not easy to find but if you look hard enough they are out there.

Personally I love Dragonball Z. I however disregard everything after the Cell Games saga as that was supposed to be the end. The series only continued because of fan requests. If you watch the Cell games you see a lot of closure in it. A major thing was Vegeta stating he isnt a warrior and would never fight again, yet in the next season he is training to fight 🤷.

Also Dragonball Z did stay rather martial artsy up until the android saga where the ‘power level’ creeped in over the actual combat (rewatch the Freiza fight and then compare it to the fight with Cell, you see almost every hit with Frieza but cell is ‘to fast to follow’ or ie ‘we got lazy and couldnt bother animating’. :D)

Dragon ball does have quite a bit of nudity but for the most part it seems more because of Gokus innocense in not realizing nuity should be hidden ( he shows genuine shock when he realizes Bulma as a girl lacks male reproductive organs, even as far as saying ‘someone has stolen them’) later on when Goku is a teenager then udity gets cut back a lot and focuses more on the fighting (exspecially with Tien and Piccolo).
