Dream that reveals vocation?

ok, so I had a dream last night. The first part was a little weird but towards the end before I woke up, I sort of had a vision. I was talking to someone, It was a lady I think looked like Mary, she was wearing blue. Anyway, out of nowhere she said, “Your path is enviable. You are to become a Discalced Carmelite!” O.o okay so i had looked into them some time ago and they were interesting and the thing about it was earlier that night I was talking with my conformation sponsor (I am confirmed, though, I don’t know the best word otherwise) and we were talking how I just falling in love with my philosophy classes in college. And she listed off some careers that which you need philosophy in, and one was to study Theology.

Is this a vision sent God/Mary, or just a plain dream? Any thoughts.
 
Could be either. Just use this as a chance to learn more about them. However, don’t feel like you have to join these people. This is your choice and if you want to join, join. If you don’t like the order, don’t join them. You’ll eventually figure out your vocation, but always remember that no matter what you do, your primary vocation is to love others. So, good luck and don’t worry too much about it.
 
Pray much, be open, and see if you are continually guided in the same way.

Dreams have guided many in the early Church… Joseph for example.
I dreamed of walking along a path. ( I love the outdoors and just walking ) I happened upon a woman and from the first site of her felt this complete peace. From first sight all I knew was that I did and needed to love her. I sat at her feet with my forehead resting on her knee. I remember saying, I want to stay here with you.
She said, You can’t, you have much to do. Stop resisting what you know and feel is right. You help is needed.
When I woke up I had the most absolute feeling of peace. My spiritual director said it could have been Mary on a spiritual level, and on the psychology level it may have meant my mind needed a coping mechanism. Yes, it is hard when your Priest who is your spiritual advisor has a Doctorate in psychology. In the end he feels it could have been a calling. Pray more for direction.

I think God could reveal your vocation through dreams. The Lord communicated to many of the Saints in dreams so I see no reason why he wouldn’t do the same with you.

I had a dream about a priestly vocation a few year back and I think it was an indication that I could be called to the priesthood. In fact, the dream was one of the main reasons I began discerning.

hey. thanks. your advice has helped and congrats on discerning. right now it is a little hard for me at the moment because I have just entered college and I also suffer from depression. so when that is taken care of I can seriously discern after that.

Pray a Rosary, for your vocation as well as your depression.

"The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families…that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.”

It is not hard, only a distraction. When you know, you know. It is something that you cannot stop thinking about no matter what you attempt to do. Like my mom said when I met your father, I just knew. And when you meet her, you'll know or you will find a calling that will seem as natural to you as breathing. 
 In the end it is not happiness alone but how natural it feels to you. If you are excited to share your faith and feel most comfortable being in that position then God may be 'nudging' you along despite your own thoughts fears.

Ok, thanks. That is sort of what my mom said when met my dad too. Lately, I have been feeling called to more of the single/perpetual virginal life due to the career that i am thinking of going into, it involves a lot of traveling. The idea of being travelling the world but still being God’s alone, the idea feels more natural to me.
 
If it is from go he will confirm it, but you can pray and ask for verification from him.
