Dream that scared the daylights out of me

A very common tactic of demons is to disturb sleep. Sounds like a spiritual warfare dream. Claim your quality sleep.

Demonic warfare often proceeds an act God is going to do, such as going to attend a spiritual retreat. Your sleep may be hampered or you may be overcome by a strong negative feeling. Pick up a rosary! That generally solves the problem.

The devil also like to follow right after where God has been to steal the blessing left behind so to speak.

As for a specific dream interlretation it is impossible because too many details are lacking.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I had a feeling that this was not just a nightmare. I rarely have bad dreams and if I do, I forget about them in a day or so. This was wayyyyy different. I could really just feel the evil and it scared me almost to death.

To be honest I had this too. I thought it’s not just a dream because the feeling of evil was so strong. I was even praying the Rosary in my dream to help me!

If you go to Youtube and key in “Sensus Fidelium” in the search box, you will see many various topics with the label of “sensus fidelium” . They are all very good, given by different holy priests. The Sensus Fidelium series are great sources to learn our Catholic faith. The video you mentioned above is one of them.

We need to educate ourselves and actively learn our faith. With proper knowledge of the faith we may stand firm and not waver when trials, temptations, and persecutions come. And they will come.

Hey everyone!

First, let me say that I have been really experiencing a deeper connection to Jesus and Our Lady lately…more than ever before. I pray the rosary daily, go to Mass as often as I can (but at least every Sunday!), and have been spending time in Adoration for the first time.

Well, something strange happened the other night. I had a dream and encountering demons in the guise of children. Let me add that I haven’t watched any scary movies in ages. Anyway, I woke up more frightened than I had ever felt in my entire life. I’ve had nightmares before, but this goes way above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. I’ve even taken to sleeping with my rosary. Could this be Satan trying to frighten me because I am drawing closer to Our Lord? Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated. Your dream is very interesting to me, because I recently had a similar experience.

I have been away from the Church for a while … after Superstorm Sandy destroyed my home I was living elsewhere for a while and started to not go to Church … then I became so engrossed in trying to get my life back to the pre-Sandy storm days, that I continued to stay away, and in the end it was merely just caring more about my daily life than anything relating to God … very sinful, and I have a lot of amends to make with our Lord.

The week of the canonization of Mother Teresa, I was on the internet and started reading more about her life … I have an extensive Catholic library from years ago … so I went into it and started reading the 4 books I had on Mother Teresa … well thank the Lord that I did, because it began a very deep spiritual awakening for me, and I have since been back to Church and Confession … thank you Jesus.

Just wanted to tell you that at the beginning of all this I had a very terrible dream with regard to lust that was so horrible that I woke up disgusted … so I do indeed believe that the devil works through our dreams to try to attack us … especially when we are experiencing an awakening of our souls.

I have been doing the same as you … I have been sleeping with my rosary ever since the dream.
