I know, I can say no. But there were no situations like that. To be honest, there are only two friends that I like, that I can enjoy myself at its finest. With other people, I would feel chained? Like i am not free enough, that inner feeling.
This is the interesting part!!! If you are catholic, put a good investment in befriending practicing church going Catholics. It’s your best, soundest, investment. You need to get to know more people, the main thing is that your knowledge of Catholicism allows you to keep up with the personal challenges that you will encounter. That is key to making and keeping good friends. Keep up your learning of the doctrine, your prayer life, and build up your social life. No need to be shy…If it doesn’t succeed at first keep trying. And remember, meekness is key to keeping friends, just pick well those you will befriend. And be careful, 18 years of age and the world changes, sometimes to fast all at once…

If you were going to try alcohol, it’s best to do it in a controlled environment where you aren’t going to drive. Although my parents gave us alcohol on special occasions like New Year’s Eve or brandy in tea when I was sick sometimes as a child, my real introduction to drinking alcohol was in college. I learned real fast that I couldn’t tolerate very much of it and that I really didn’t think getting sick from drinking alcohol was any fun. So, even now and much older I know I can only have one glass of wine or one bottle of beer and that’s it.

I am type of lone wolf, I dont like meeting new people in a big group, maybe because its a disfunction from the hard past.

I don’t think you should drink for the sake of the alcohol to get drunk, but only if you genuinely like the taste of certain drinks. That some say even have some benefits for health like beer and wine. But not mixed. Lol
I have never met a situation when one is expected to drink and if they don’t the sky falls down. You can always invoke stomach problems if the people insist or… that is unbeatable… that you drive.
Maybe you don’t like those parties because they’re all drunk and boring.
I definitely wouldn’t suggest to drink to compensate something - loneliness, stress, sadness, loss - because it can lead to addiction. So in your case where you feel you maybe should drink to socialize more even if you’re not particularly interested in that either, I say don’t do it. Because you’re not doing it because you want to do it but because you feel expected to do so or maybe try to compensate what you now see as “not enough friends”. You’ll meet other people not necessarily at parties.

Whatever the case, you have to work exactly on that. It’s a part of developing yourself, even if your preference goes the opposite way. Because you need experience, practice. Even if you are the more introvert type, you are nevertheless a social being. Also, it is sure difficult for some people to be mingle with the crowd but you have to manage it because you will need those skills through out your life. A part of our reason of being are others, that is just the way it is. So find a few places in society where you do feel comfortable and make it a priority to be humble and meek and fit in. You will reap the fruits, those persons will be worth it.

Jesus drank. Heck, Jesus drank enough to (wrongly) be accused of being a drunkard. He made 120 GALLONS of wine foe the guests at Cana - who had already been drinking plenty.

So nothing wrong with moderate alcohol use. It seems occasional drinkers tend to be physically healthier than those who don’t drink at all.

My own rule of thumb is never to drink so much that I’d be unable to drive.
