During labor if a woman uses any kind of drug for the pain is it a sin?

Hi,I give bible studies to whoever would like to know the word of God and this past friday i went to a home and at this point we are at the beginning of Genisis and as we got to Genesis 3,16 when God told the woman that he was going to increase the pain in labor a lady asked me the question if it was a sin to use any type of drug to ease the pain since that is God’s will and women are going against it she says she feels like she sinned I could answer that question so i told her next week when we meet i will let her know the answer so if someone could please help and give me an answer.Thanks

Do we conclude that all men who earn their living without heavy physical labor, (doctors and lawyers, for example) are sinning in doing so?

Good point thank you but i still dont understand why we men and woman arent suffering that much of pain and hard work like God has said.Now i know back in the old testament women did suffer from pain and men worked very hard to provide a living but now in days things are just much smoother the only reason why that i could think of is that Jesus Christ paid it all.Amen

No. The fact that suffering is the effect of sin in the world does not mean we should not alleviate suffering, in fact the prophets have always called the faithful to do so.

As Christians we are called to recognize that Jesus’ suffering gives meaning to all human suffering. This does not mean we seek suffering or refuse to mitigate it, in others or ourselves.

The Instruction Dignitas Personae observed:

the Church seeks to draw near to every human being who is suffering, whether in body or in spirit, in order to bring not only comfort, but also light and hope. These give meaning to moments of sickness and to the experience of death, which indeed are part of human life and are present in the story of every person, opening that story to the mystery of the Resurrection.
