Dutch Reporter to Use Heroin, Pot on TV

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – A field reporter for a new Dutch television talk show plans to use heroin and other illegal drugs on the air during the weekly program on issues that concern young people, producers said Wednesday.

The show’s in-studio host, Sophie Hilbrand, will interview guests about drug use and abuse, while Wesselink appears in segments taped in the field as he experiments with drugs and liquor. Another reporter, Ties Van Westing, will do segments about engaging in sex acts, but not on camera.

For one episode, Wesselink, 26, plans to smoke heroin, said Ingrid Timmer, spokeswoman for the show’s producer, BNN. For others, he plans to go on a drinking binge in a series of pubs and to take the hallucinogenic drug LSD – on his couch under the supervision of his mother.

It says 6 percent of Dutch have used marijuana recently, compared with 8 percent in the United States, 8 percent in Britain and 9 percent in France. For cocaine, it was 1.1 percent in Holland – and rising quickly – compared to 1.3 percent in the United States, 1.5. percent in Britain and 0.3 percent in France. Too bad he is not in the US. I would love to see him arrested for possession of illegal drugs during the broadcast.

I just hope he does not overdose. Some of the things he has planned can have long term consequences (especially LSD).

I guess a place where pot is legal has a lower percentage of usage than the US, where pot is illegal.

Yes and no. First, in the Netherlands, the POSESSION of drugs is legal. The USAGE of them is illegal. Yeah… I know… Anywho, their society is much healthier on average than our own. However, with Westernization reaching them, their rates of drug usage are climbing quickly. The difference isn’t so much the legality of it, but the cultural differences leading to their usage.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s funny and odd that he’s doing this LSD under his mother’s supervision? The whole thing is too wierd!

That line made me split a side! “on his couch under the supervision of his mother.” What a great mom, huh?
 
Any Cathoiic that thinks that Amsterdam is not the devils stronghold has not been there or has not ever known any person who has!
